Virginia Department of Employment Dispute Resolution

Law Student Advocate Program

Need help with your state employee grievance hearing?

If your workplace is within fifty miles of Charlottesville or in the Richmond Metropolitan area, you may be eligible to have a Law Student Advocate represent you in your grievance at no cost through a program with the University of Virginia Law School.

Interested?

Call the Department of Employment Dispute Resolution's (EDR) toll-free AdviceLine (1-888-23ADVICE) and speak with one of our Consultants about the program. If you are eligible and would like to explore this opportunity further, EDR will refer you to the Law School's faculty coordinator for possible placement with a Law Student Advocate.

EDR's involvement with this opportunity for representation ends once our staff refers you to the Law School faculty coordinator. Also, Law Student Advocates are not attorneys, and EDR assumes no responsibility for the effectiveness of the representation services provided through this program.
